Masked rioters took to the streets last night in a bid to, well, that's the ambiguous part. What was their purpose?
The Million Mask March have not articulated the actual purpose of their protest.
But what is fundamentally clear is that those protesting are the products of capitalism.
How can you take a protest against capitalism seriously when those participating are filming it on their iPhones?
A glaring example of the hypocrisy is the chap setting fire to the police car. The eagle eyes viewers will have noted he was wearing a Burberry jacket and a Nike bag. So he's wearing clothes that are the symbol of a capitalist society, and yet he's arguing against it?
These people are not representing people who are suffering from economic policies like tax credits. The whole demonstration was uncouth, crass, and lame.
What will throwing fireworks at police horses in silly masks achieve?
This movement has seen over privileged people coming out in their designer trainers to make some unruly noise, spurt some vacuous allegiance to anti-capitalism and they they'll slump off back to their privileged homes.
Even worse were some of those sending messages out to the rest of us saying how they were partaking in some sort of revolution.
Yes, indeed. You have a stable job, own two homes and send revolutionary text messages out.
The Million Mask March serves no substantial purpose, aside from a dilettante class finding a reason to cause trouble.
Products of a capitalist society rioting against capitalism- where will the hypocrisy end?
