Police have issued images of four people they wish to speak to after an incident of racially aggravated assault and criminal damage at a takeaway.
At around 10pm on Friday, 23 March, a group of youths entered a food takeaway on Walton Road, Liverpool and were reportedly causing annoyance and damage in the shop.
Upon being asked to leave, two girls in the group reportedly used racially abusive language, spat at, and kicked members of staff, causing injuries. Damage was also caused to windows at the shop.
Following a lengthy incident, the group eventually left and the staff reported it to police.
Witness and CCTV enquiries have been ongoing and detectives would like to speak to those people pictured to assist with their enquiries.
Detective Inspector Mark Drew said: "This was a disgusting incident in which staff were subjected to damage, racial abuse and violence when going about their daily business. The incident lasted around 20 minutes and must have been a distressing experience.
"We will not tolerate such appalling behaviour and I would ask that those people in the images or anyone who recognises them to come forward and help our enquiries.
"Merseyside Police takes all reports of hate crime, criminal damage and violence extremely seriously and I want to reassure local businesses that we are determined to find those responsible and ensure Liverpool remains a safe place to live, work and visit."
