The story of a man who donated his kidney to his wife has gone viral.

Shbeili bin Ahmad Hasan Al Shehri from Saudi said his wife had been in pain for years and he wanted to end her suffering.

According to Sabq news, Al Shehri said, "I can't hesitate when it comes to saving my wife. We've been married for 11 years. I could see the pain she was in throughout her illness but at the same time, I was experiencing life without any physical pain and wanted to gift her a part of that."

He added that he would have donated his kidney to a stranger if he had been a match.

The procedure took place at King Fahed Hospital in Saudi.
