The hunt is on to find Britain’s biggest curry nut to become Patak’s Official Curry Taster.
To celebrate National Curry Week (8th-14th October), Patak’s, is launching the search.
The winning candidate will be the voice of the nation when it comes to tasting curry and helping shape the future of the Patak’s brand.
If you are crazy for Jalfrezi, drool over Dopiaza or fancy yourself as a Rogan Nosher then you are the perfect candidate for Patak’s search for Britain’s biggest curry lover.
You don’t need any formal qualifications to apply, you just need to convince the Patak’s panel of judges that your passion for curry knows no bounds and that you are Britain’s biggest curry fan.
The winner will spend a year in curry heaven. They will win a year’s supply of Patak’s sauces, pastes, pickles and poppadums – enough for hundreds of curries. They will be invited to attend new product development days with Patak’s in their innovation kitchen where they will try dozens of new dishes and feed back their thoughts in order to help create new products and refine existing recipes. In addition to this, they will receive batches of curries to taste and comment upon.
As part of their prize, Anjali Pathak, the grand-daughter of the Pathak’s family, will come to the winner’s home and give them a Masterclass in Indian cooking to unlock the secrets of the perfect home-cooked curry. Anjali will prepare an Indian feast for the lucky winner and nine friends to enjoy.
Anjali Pathak said: “This is a great opportunity for curry lovers nationwide to win a money-can’t-buy prize and be crowned our Official Curry Taster 2012. It’s the first time that we at Patak’s have allowed members of the public to help us develop our range so we’re all keen to see the changes this new dynamic will bring.”
With nearly two thirds (65%) of those in the North West claiming to love curry and experiment with new flavours and spices, Patak’s is hoping that its hunt for the ultimate curry lover will inspire people to get curry cooking this National Curry Week.
