Love Island winner Sanam Harrinanan has shared images of her wearing stunning traditional Indian outfits and jewels.

The social worker turned reality TV star, 25, said she had been asked about her heritage.

She told Okay Magazine: "I only really started to look into my heritage when I was on Love Island when people started to question if I was Indian or Caribbean - people didn’t understand what Indo/Caribbean was.

"But I was starting to see so many positive comments from girls who finally felt represented!

"I have always felt like I’ve had a bit of an identity crisis because I haven’t felt like I fit in with the Indian culture, but I also don’t feel like I fit in with the Caribbean side either.

"So this was a wonderful way to find out more about myself and my Indian side. My mum was so excited for me when I told her I’d be dressing in modern embellished Lehengas and jewelled tops."
