India Week will this year pay homage to legendary Bollywood film star Dev Anand and brother Vijay.
The special exhibition dedicated to Dev Anand and filmmaker Vijay is curated by Aman Dhillon and entitled 'The Anand Brothers, A Journey Through Film'.
The India Week Shopping Festival 2024 will feature over 50 shopping stalls; a live catwalk show featuring the latest fashion trends. It will take place on July 6 and 7 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel.
On July 6, the programme will include the inaugural Film Conclave event during which film makers from both countries to discuss opportunities in movie co-production in the UK and India.
Dev Anand, is renowned for his charismatic screen presence and his contributions to the film industry. Born in 1923, Dev Anand's career spanned over six decades, during which he appeared in more than 110 films.
His brother, Vijay Anand, also made significant contributions to Indian cinema as a director, with films like Teesri Manzil and Johny Mera Naam earning critical acclaim.
Vaibhav Anand, Dev Anand’s nephew and Vijay Anand’s son, will be present at the exhibition. Vaibhav is in the process of relocating to the UK, bringing with him the rich legacy of the Anand family.
