Hot on the heels of the success of Red Rose, cameras are set to start rolling in Bolton for another horror.

'24 Hours in Leeds' will start shooting in the town early next year.

Actors will be coming to Bolton early next year in January filming a 'fight scene', with locations across the North West being featured.

Freddy Smith from The Dumping Ground, former Bury College student Zain Ullah from Netflix’s film Moor and Archie Clark from Gatesman Revenge will star in the film.

The film tells the story of Ryan, Adam and Jack who are students focused on their education, however after Ryan finds out a secret he shouldn't have heard, he turns to a dark evil path that leads him to murder his victims that are involved in his past.

Whoever knows the secret must die or Ryan must reap what he sows and face the grave consequences.

Manchester born actor Zain has secured a leading role in the short horror film.

The 21 year-old first auditioned for the film in 2021 when he was still at Manchester Metropolitan University and had been tagged on a Instagram post for auditions.

Speaking about why they chose Bolton for filming, Zain said: "There is a new film to be set in leeds called ‘24 Hours In Leeds’.

"We chose Bolton as one of our spots to film as it is close to Manchester and also the park we have chosen is perfect for our short film.

"So filming will be taking place in a park called Queens park for a ‘fight scene’ we have in place.

"It will start at the beginning of January 2023 and the film will be released in March after editing is completed."

The short film will then be available on Vimeo and 123Movies.

Recently a series based on the iconic film The Full Monty was filmed in Bolton town centre, with stars of the original film taking to delighted visitors.

BBC's hit Red Rose was set in the town.
