An Islamic devotional song by a Nasheed artist was viewed over 200,000 times on YouTube within a week of its release.
Naseem Khan, known to many as Nas T released a revamped version of ‘May Laj Pa La’, a classic recitation by the late Abdul Sattar Niaz, just ahead of Ramadan which began on March 23.
Naats and Nasheeds are Islamic devotional songs and during the holy month of Ramadan tend to be played in many households and vehicles.
Nas said: “I decided to revamp it and added a little twist.
“My producer Gush Sembhi who is also from Blackburn, did an outstanding job, with the Harmonium and the production.
“I also wanted to utilise local talent and give them a chance, so I decided to use Ahmed from Eyecon Moments who was very happy and willing to make his first Naat video.”
The video features Man E, Kas Akhtar and Cllr Tiger Patel and was picked up by major music channel B4U Music.
The track is available on all major download platforms or by clicking here.
Nas is looking to follow up his latest success by releasing another Nasheed - ‘Mujhe b Madine Bhula’ - on 18 April.
