ALLAN ECCLES On Wednesday April 29th 2020 peacefully in hospital, Allan aged 95 years, former compositor at the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. Beloved father of the late Stuart and Lyn, loving grandfather to Louise and Lisa, great grandfather of Louis and Alice and dear companion of Amy. Due to current circumstances a private family funeral service will take place at Pleasington Crematorium on Tuesday May 12th at 1.30pm. Donations in memory of Allan may be made to The N. H. Sorry to just hear about Allan. I worked with him in the 70's as an apprentice compositor at the telegraph. He was a very funny man who kept me amused with his tales of the past and his little songs that he used to sing. I used to go fishing with him to Morecambe fishing from the stone jetty. I think he sort of took me under his wing and taught me a lot about comping and fishing. Glad he made it into his 90's. One of life's characters.
