So sorry to hear the sad news of Bill’s passing. I remember both Ivy and Bill with much fondness and happy memories of growing up in Salesbury. My parents (Bill and Audrey Clarkson) were great friends with them and spent many an evening chatting and laughing. My mum and Ivy were such good friends. Sending love to you all at this sad time from Sarah Clarkson x

My lovely father in law, you are now at peace and out of pain. I know you are a stickler for detail, so won’t be happy that the Telegraph has not recognised that OBE should be in capitals to show that you were awarded the Order of the British Empire for services to Education. We were promised that this would be changed. We will make sure that happens!
You are and always will be missed by all the family and your friends and colleagues. We are all so proud of you , and I am so happy you allowed me to call you Dad. Rest in peace now x
