MARGARET ELIZABETH BRADLEY, SRN. Passed away peacefully on December 17th, 2020, aged 89, in Blackpool Victoria hospital. She will be sadly missed by children, Andrew (Kairen) Bradley and John (Audrey) Bradley; grandchildren, Laura, Emma, Matthew and Georgina; nieces Judith, Patricia and Christine. Margaret was born on August 30th, 1931, to John Robert Moulden and Jessie Moulden (formerly Hind), and grew up in Higher Croft, Blackburn. Aged 17, she entered the nursing profession in Blackburn Royal Infirmary, which was the start of a distinguished career dedicated to helping other people. From Theatre Nurse to Sister specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat, her trailblazing passion for improving the lives of patients eventually led to her inventing and patenting two devices to improve the process of ear syringing, both of which sold around the world. After working as District Nurse, based in Montague Street and Larkhill Health Centres, Margaret finished her nursing career leading nurse training and development. Her last project, when as trustee of the Community Nurses Amenity Fund, was the creation of the 'Community Nurse of the Year Awards'. She spent her final years as caregiver to her late, beloved husband, John, in his decade-long battle with vascular dementia. Outside of her nursing career, Margaret for many years volunteered as a trained listener for Blackburn Samaritans and was a keen genealogist, tracing her family tree back to the early 17th-Century. She was also an enthusiastic fundraiser for Crohn's and Colitis UK, to which donations in lieu of flowers can be made at gofund.me/d599d6c2 The private service at Pleasington will be on 29th December.
