I was so so saddened to hear John had passed away. He was a lovely gentle giant of a man. I was lucky to be his mixed doubles partner for many years at Witton badminton club and have a lovely picture of the team. Could not quite believe he was 69, time goes by so quick. Condolences to his family and friends he will be missed indeed

Condolences to you Wendy and all your family at this very sad time.
I knew John when we were kids on Winston Road during the 1950’s/1960’s. We attended St James School. My Mum was very friendly with Renee, Johnny and Mrs Beardsall and Peggy.
My friend Yvonne, who still lives in Blackburn let me know the sad news.

So sorry and sad to hear of John’s passing. He was a great guy and many fond memories of Badminton 🏸 come to mind. He was an inspiration to the youngsters in his day. It was a pleasure knowing him. My thoughts are with you Wendy and the family at this extremely difficult time. Take care. Sent with sincere condolences Jackie Wright.
