JOHN (IAN) MCWHIRTER Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, 20th August 2021 aged 73 years. Beloved husband of the late Georgina (Georgie), devoted Dad to Elizabeth, Angela, Valerie & Gayle, dearly loved Papa, father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and dear friend to many. A Church service will be held at St Aidan's Church, Blackburn on Tuesday, 31st August 2021 at 10.30am followed by a cremation at Pleasington at 11.30am. Reposing in the Chapel of Rest, Broomfield Place, Witton. Family flowers only and if desired donations may be made in memory of Ian to The Brain Tumour Charity c/o The Alty Funeral Service, Broomfield Place, Blackburn, BB2 1XF Tel: 01254 503240

Goodnight God bless you Ian. I met you on the Aspire course in2012 and I’ll always fondly remember the happy times and all the laughter that we shared. You were such a kind and generous man and always willing to help anyone on the course. I’ll always remember those happy times and the friendship that we made. You are now reunited with your dear wife Georgie I knew from our chats how much you missed her and how much that you loved her. Sleep well Ian and keep on running on the treadmill in heaven. R I P Friend. Allan.
