TOLLEY Rev. Geoffrey Knipe On 17th December 2021, at home. Geoffrey aged 86 years. Beloved husband of Edith, much loved dad of Tracey and Martin also dearly loved grandad of Kieran and Tara. A service in Central United Reformed Church, Darwen on Friday, 7th January at 10.30 a.m. will be followed by cremation at Pleasington. Family flowers only please, but if desired donations may be sent for either The Rotary Club of Darwen or Darwen Probus Club. c/o Ainsworth's Funeral Service, Church Bank Street, Darwen, BB3 3HA. I was privileged to watch the funeral on Facebook. I met Geoff many times always at funerals as I was often the organist for the wonderful services he took. Several at Pickup Bank and one at the crematorium where he stepped in when a Roman Catholic priest was unable at short notice to attend. He took the service not knowing the family but delivered a dignified send-off and made everyone feel comfortable. A man of deep faith but with a great sense of humour. I will miss him.
