Mark Hendrick has launched a new website with the latest news on his campaign to be re-elected in Preston.
On www.votehendrick.co.uk he states, "For the first time in history Preston people are worse off than they were at the last General Election. The Conservative Lib Dem government has ensured that the average voter is £1600 worse off than they were when they took office in 2010.
"The last five years in Preston have been ones of high unemployment, the minimum wage, zero hour contracts and a government that doesn’t value our people.
"Recent years have seen a cost of living crisis with costs of energy, food and essentials all outstripping incomes. Labour has pledged to cap energy bills and to promote employers paying the living wage rather than the minimum wage.
"The NHS has been under attack from day one, with policies which weren’t in the Conservatives manifesto. Ward closures, long waiting lists for operations and A&E units in chaos have been created by a government that wants to switch health services to private.
"This General Election is an opportunity to change all of this. People across Preston will be better off only under a Labour government."
Also standing in Preston election are James Barker UK Independence Party (UKIP); Gemma Christie Green Party; Jo Barton Liberal Democrats and Richard Holden of the Conservative Party.
