Twitter has attempted to add a bit of colour to the General Election campaign - by launching "hashflags" for each party.
The development by the social media site ensures the logo of a party will appear in a tweet if a specific hashtag is used.
It follows the use of the so-called hashflags for teams during major sporting events, including the World Cup.
The election hashflags include: :: #conservative :: #labour :: #libdems :: #ukip :: #greens :: #snp :: #plaid15 :: #dup :: #sdlp :: #respectparty According to Twitter, more than 1.5 million tweets were sent during the seven-way leader's debate earlier this month - with an average of 8,657 tweets per minute.
