Stand-up comedian Tez Ilyas and Faz Shah will launch a major South Asian festival in Lancashire.
The Kinara Festival which runs from from 8th – 31st July will feature an outstanding line-up of performances, film and music events across Pennine Lancashire.
Some of the highlights of the South Asian Islamic Arts Festival includes a special film screenings of the film ‘Song of Lahore’.
Photographer Peter Sanders will share the secrets of his forty-year experience people around the world. He is the only photographer to be given the keys to Mecca and Medina.
Not to be missed is Asif Khan’s one-man show written by the new playwright Hassan Abdulrazzak. It is the comic tale of four men, from different parts of the globe, experiencing a moment of revelation.
Two magical nights of live Sufi music from artists from Palestine, Pakistan, India, Turkey, Morocco, Spain and the UK explores the theme of Air and Water, while the second looks to Earth and Fire for inspiration.
The Sonia Sabri Company is one of the most dynamic South Asian dance companies in the UK.
Having gained an international reputation, they now bring their latest creation for Pennine Lancashire, giving people a unique opportunity to see some of the most influential dance to come out of South India.
You can also discover the secrets of Spoken Word with Blackburn-born Avaes Mohammad and Mojisola Adebayo.
