A Muslim charity helped to bring spread some Christmas cheer to hospital patients by donating 56 hampers.
Muslim Global Relief have pledged to visit children’s hospital, care homes and food banks over the festive period.
The hampers contain a variety of Christmas treats including chocolates, arts and crafts and toys for children and were presented to those patients going home from Blackburn Royal hospital.
Charity Manager, Asma Siddique said, “It’s fantastic to be able to provide Christmas hampers for children patients at the Hospital which is not only an incredibly touching gesture, but one that makes a real difference.
“On behalf of MGR, I would like to thank The Blackburn Teaching Hospital and all my team who put their efforts to bring a smile on children’s faces."
A spokesperson for East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust said: “We would like to say a big thank you to Muslim Global Relief for taking the time to visit our Children’s Unit.
“All of the staff, children and families really appreciate the generous gifts to help lighten what can often be a difficult time.
