A Biomedical Science student was named Miss Charity at this year’s Miss Lancashire pageant after raising £2,000.
Madihah Haq, aged 19 of Preston is studying at UCLAN and always wanted to be a model but at five-foot tall said it wasn’t easy getting into a pageant.
She was named Miss Charity at the Miss Lancashire pageant and raised £2,000 for the Variety - a children's charity.
Speaking after the event she said, “I am overwhelmed with all the support I have received. I couldn’t have done it without my family and friends.
“I want to thank everyone for all the support and for their donations over the past couple of months."
“I also want to thank all of the members from behind the scenes of Miss Lancashire 2019 for the continuous support throughout.
“I have remained true to myself. Entered a competition on my conditions - wearing a hijab. If I can do it, anybody can. Nothing should stop you!”
“You can achieve anything you work for. But do it by not forgetting the purpose of life, Not forgetting who you are and never forgetting your religion.
