Racist chant at a FA Cup match at Millwall have been widely condemned.

In a video Millwall Fans could be heard singing 'I'd rather be a P*** than a scouse' repeatedly at the Den in their victory over Everton yesetrday.

Comedian Tez Ilyas, from Blackburn, said on Twitter: "Two things 1. First time I was racially abused on stage, was by Millwall fans 2. One of the reasons I love Scousers is because they’re very much like an ethnic minority: hated by the worst in our country.

"This is shameful and embarrassing for @MillwallFC, BUT PLEASE, let’s not do that thing where we pretend it’s their fault, or football’s fault. Racism is society’s problem and issue.

"Racist chanting at football matches is a symptom of racism, not its root cause. A symptom of racialising crimes (committed by minorities) by a media who‘ve manipulated the most susceptible in society to trust its own worst fears and bigotry..."

Guz Khan and Hardeep Snigh Kohli were a little more forthright.

The game was marred by a fight between fans.

A  man was knifed in the face as thugs clashed in the streets ahead of the match.
