Non-Muslim teachers at a school in Sweden have protested against a bill banning "all forms of Muslim headgear" in primary schools and preschools by donning the hijab themselves.
In a show of solidarity, non-Muslim teachers at Swedish Prästamosseskolan School arrived at work wearing the Islamic hijab in protest of the ban which is set to take effect in their city within the next six months.
According to Sputnik News, one of the teachers, Marit, said, "The students get excited when they see that we also have veils. They feel that we support them.”
The teachers were subjected to vitriol on social media after their actions with some people calling them "idiots" while others accused them of supporting "the oppression of women."
