Members of the Overseas Pakistani Commission (OPC) were in Blackburn at a special event hosted by Zenith Lawyers LLP.
The Commission aims to address complaints by ex-pat Pakistanis from issues relating to land grabbing to investments. The audience which was made up of some of the leading businesses in the North West and councillors from the borough, who heard from Makhdoom Syed Tariq Mahmood-ul-Hassan, International Organiser (OPC).
In attendance were OPC board members Asif Rashid Butt and Malik Imran Khalil and the audience also heard from Cllr Mohammed Khan, Khalid Saifullah and Cllr Quesir Mahmood.
Speakers on the night highlighted a range of issues relating to the issues Pakistanis face when they are in the country or when they look to visit Pakistan.
The Commission aims to remove hurdles and policy decisions and representatives on the night were on hand to answer questions and highlight how they were dealing with 3000 cases and why each one would be investigated.
Zairab Zabier from Zenith Lawyers LLP said, “Mr Mahmood-ul-Hassan was delighted by the response of the community and how this event was hosted by us to educate Pakistani nationals that there is help available if you find yourself in a difficult position.
“Imran Khan’s Government have pledged resources into this programme and we trust that this will become successful.”
