Journalist Joseph Hayat has been announced as the new Editor-in-chief at British Muslim TV.
The Yorkshire based channel is an English language, Islamic broadcaster now streaming 24/7 via Facebook and YouTube.
Joseph joins British Muslim TV after a decade of working with national and international channels (most recently ITV) and said he had ambitious plans for British Muslim TV.
He said, "Given the majority of the Muslim population globally is under 35, it is imperative that the channel is accessible 24/7, on-demand, internationally to our audience.
"Equally, we are looking forward to supporting the Halal industry and entrepreneurs in the community with the intended launch of our LIVE teleshopping service this Ramadan."
The channel recently attracted the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) brand.
Joseph added, "It's a pleasure for us to be able to welcome PIA. We welcome collaboration with colleagues from all across the community and I would like to reiterate that our door is always open."
Arshad Ashraf, Founder and Director said, "I am confident that together with the support of our devoted team, British Muslim TV will now reach it's true potential whilst continuing to put the community at the forefront of everything we do.
"We welcome the zeal that Joseph brings to the channel."
