MP Naz Shah is to host her own show British Muslim TV.
'The Naz Shah Show' will be broadcast live on Friday evenings (20:30) from the channel's Wakefield base.
In her inaugural show, the Bradford West MP discussed road safety before later featuring her first guest of the series, Shaista Gohir OBE, a women's rights activist in the community discussing misogyny in society.
Naz Shah said, “I'm delighted to have my own show on British Muslim TV. Whist I stand on the shoulders of many of my fellow political sisters, it’s important that we support aspiring young Muslim females by exercising leadership through dialogue over much-needed conversations, whilst showcasing positive role models relevant to the whole of Britain’s Muslim community.”
Joseph Hayat, Editor In Chief of British Muslim TV said, "British Muslim TV is honoured to be working with Naz Shah MP. Naz has been a true community champion for more than 25 years and truly understands the challenges at the heart of our community. It's excellent to have a British-Muslim female MP bringing such topics to the forefront of primetime TV."
The Member of Parliament is hosting the show voluntarily.
