TfL has marked the closing of South Asian Heritage Month with a selection of portraits celebrating the contributions and achievements of its staff.
The poster exhibition highlights the workforce in varied roles across TfL serving London.
The display can be found at Victoria, Hounslow West, Limehouse DLR and West Croydon.
Brahmjit Singh , is NMCC People Manager and helps to manage operations and major incidents on our bus and road networks.
He says he enjoys the busy operational environment of the Network Management Control Centre. Brahmjit is the founder of the TfL Sikh Staff Network, which not only brings people of the same faith together, but also helps to raise awareness of Sikh culture within TfL.
Rajdeep Ghatora is Overground Concession Contract Manager and said ‘When I’m out and about on the London Overground network, I can point at changes which have been made to enhance the customer experience and say “I had something to do with that”.’
Furhana, Senior Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer said: "It would be fair to say that the transport industry found me rather than the other way round, but I haven’t looked back!’ She has used her engineering skills on station, signalling and rolling stock upgrades."
Furhana’s current role involves improving diversity within engineering, "There should be zero tolerance for racism within the transport industry."
Tasmin Bahia is passionate about reducing injuries on London’s roads and said: "I’m so pleased to be able to make a difference and do my bit to make London a safer city for everyone."
