Huge crowds are expected to attend the Sunni Dawate Islami (SDI) conference in Preston over the weekend.
The annual gathering will take place at Noor Hall and will run from Friday until Sunday where people will be able to hear from leading Islamic speakers and scholars from across Britain.
The SDI’s mission is to provide ‘educational, spiritual and counselling assistance to the community through Islamic teachings’.
The group, which has bases across Lancashire and have been conducting work around educating young people in the prevention of anti-social behaviour, drug abuse and crime.
They have also been hosting motivational speeches helping those suffering from depression and anxiety.
The event will be presided over by the President of Sunni Dawate Islami, Allama Maulana Shakir Noorie from Mumbai, India. Maulana Shakir has been ranked among the top Muslims in the 500 Most Influential Muslims list.
Other speakers will include: Allama Qamaruzzaman Azmi, President of the World Islamic Mission, Manchester; Mufti Qamar Ul Hasan ,Chief Jurist and Mufti of North America (USA) and Qari Mohammed Rizwan of Mumbai.
The three-day conference will begin with a women only event on Friday from 3pm. Further men only events take place on Saturday (3pm till midnight) and Sunday 10th September (11am to 8pm).
Event organisers said limited parking facilities is available on site. Refreshments and food will be offered at appropriate times. Stewards and volunteers will be onsite to help assist all our guest.
