POLICE have seen a sharp rise in the number of burglaries targeting Asian gold in Bradford.
In the last four months, there have been 28 burglaries where Asian gold has been stolen across the Bradford East, South and West areas.
Detective Inspector Dennise Bell, of West Yorkshire Police, said: "We have seen a significant increase in the number of residential burglaries where Asian gold has been stolen.
"Our investigation shows that the suspects are riding around the Bradford area on e-bikes, targeting properties.
"Officers would like to appeal to anyone who has seen anything suspicious to come forward with information.
"We would also like to see any doorbell footage that may have captured these bikes riding past your property.
"It appears that the suspects are snapping the locks on the door.
"We would like to take this opportunity to remind residents about making sure that they have an up-to-date anti-snap lock on all doors.
"Also ensure that windows and doors are secured, and valuables are locked away in a safe place.
"Our investigation into the residential burglaries remains ongoing."
Anyone with information on the crimes should contact police on 101, quoting 13240514228.
- Two males, aged 15 and 16, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary as part of the investigation and remain in police custody.
