Crowds from across the region descended on Manchester city centre for a pro-Palestine peace protest.

It was one of several rallies taking place in the city over the weekend with hundreds of protesters making their way through the city.

The biggest one weaved its way through Manchester's heart on Saturday afternoon as part of the protest run by Greater Manchester Friends of Palestine.

Demonstrators from all backgrounds and cultures called for an end to the the ongoing bombing of the Gaza strip and LebanonThe 'No Climate Justice Without Palestinian Liberation' was a call for global powers to stop fueling Israel which if done, would restrict its ability to wage war.

Organisers said: "The free people of Manchester took to the streets on Saturday on the international week of action against institutions fueling Israel's genocide of Gaza - demanding an immediate arms and energy embargo on Israel."
