Rochdale Labour Party has chosen Daalat Ali as their candidate to contest Kingsway Ward in the Local Elections.
Mr Ali currently works in Adult Social Care for Leeds City Council and has a great deal of experience working with people from different backgrounds.
Mr Ali wishes to use his substantial experience to help develop strong community cohesion in the Kingsway area, enabling residents and business owners to unite to form positive change and progression in the area.
Mr Ali said “My vision for Kingsway is to bring much needed change to the area which has been in gradual decline due to years of ignorance and neglect by councillors from the Liberal Democrat party. I intend to change the profile of the area significantly, should I be voted into power.”
If elected Mr Ali intends to get to work on a number of key local issues.
He particularly supports the opening of facilities for young people in the area and intends to campaign strongly for the creation of new facilities that offer a place for young people to learn, socialise or play sport in Kingsway. Furthermore he intends to get to grips with many issues that are blighting local people such as road improvements and rubbish being collected on time.
Mr Ali is concerned that local people are not being offered a voice in the area and points to a lack of surgeries as evidence of how people are being shunned under the current council.
Mr Ali, who has lived in the local area for over twenty years, wants people from the area to be listened to, and feels that a separation in power between local people and the council is harming the areas’ progress.
