Established in 1991 the Kebab House has a reputation for delivering some tasty specialties. Well, that might be the case but did it pass the Anj test?
As soon as you walk into this joint the smell of freshly made parathas is overwhelming.
Already my mouth was watering.
Asif the owner decided to lay one of his specials on me.
A rollie pollie - Chicken pieces and seek kebabs on a freshly made paratha.
Kebab House is the only take away in town with one of those old clay based ovens.
That's something of a rare treat as most take-aways nowadays tend to have the naans baked in machines.
It is a change to see your food cooked in one of these old style ovens.
One of the reasons a person comes out to eat is to taste something different. The difference here is what you get.
The food arrives and I'm surprised by the amount of meat on my plate.
I've been getting pretty annoyed at having to wade through large amounts of salad hunting for the meat every time I go out.
This dish however seems to have the kebab - salad proportion just right.
The Paratha was very filling and the sauce I must admit had a certain edge to it.
There was something different to it and it certainly complemented the marinated chicken and seek kebabs as well.
At least someone took their sauce seriously.
As for the service the food did arrive surprisingly quickly seen as was all freshly cooked.
Try the special and the Lahori chicken if you've got room.
The friendly atmosphere was also a bonus.
