Believe it or not I have climbed many a mountain in my time...sometimes on my own.
This month I managed to stumble across a little place called K2 Taj Chippery and Curry based on Plane Street, Blackburn.
I had avoided the the K2 Taj for a long time but my curiosity got the better of me.
There are a total of five K2 Taj take aways in the region covering Preston, Nelson, Manchester and Oldham.
This newly refurbished and modernised K2 Taj is a far cry from the days of old.
As I entered I was greeted by Imran and Shiraaz who run the take-away.
The menu had the lot. So I decided to give them an order they would remember me by and ordered...well...the lot.
The Chicken Persian and chips, a seafood pizza, a traditional keema Pastie, some chicken keema pasta, a mixed grill and seeing as this was a chippery - some traditional fish and chips.
It was the biggest order I had ever come up with and I waited for the confusion and panic.
There was none. Imran and Shiraaz got to work and had the food ready for me in double quick time.
Whilst all the dishes were pretty decent it was the Chicken Persian and chips (at £2.50) that had me wishing I had come here earlier.
I was also impressed by the how they also served jacket potatoes and sandwiches. A first on my travels.
The customer service was excellent and the friendly environment was a real bonus. These boys had been around for a while (10 years to be exact) and they had mastered it.
On the down side Shiraaz had a Liverpool top. I come from the blue half of Merseyside you see.
The K2 is the most difficult mountain in the world to climb but if there is a meal cooked by these boys waiting at the top it will be well worth the effort.
