There was a spring in my step as I made my way to the Masala Mix.
'They do a top curry' I was told by one of Blackburn United's finest.
It's not what you make it's how you make it.
Many fast food outlets are hell bent on giving us the take-away experience.
Whilst I enjoy the odd change, sometimes you want to walk into a place and taste food made the traditional way. The kind of food you get at home.
So one lazy Sunday afternoon myself and a fellow take-away guru (Tahir Mahmud) made our way to Massala Mix.
It didn't look the most welcoming of places at first but anyone who knows me will agree when I say "I admit when I'm wrong and quickly apologise."
The Massala mix boasts a huge selection of kebabs, burgers and curry dishes.
We chose the Special Mix kebab and the Karahi Ghosht dish. The kebab was cooked in a traditional clay oven which certainly gave it the edge.
It was decent enough but it was Karahi Ghosht which blew my mind.
I've tasted many a dish served in many restaurants and take-aways over the years and this one ranked up there with the best.
My host even gave me a plate of salad so well presented I didn't want to spoil it by eating it.
Whilst tucking in I noticed the three curries and couple of roti's for a tenner offer available at the time. It seemed too good to be true.
So good my companion Mr T' was a changed man. And if it's good enough for him who am I to argue.
