It was time to get some healthy stuff into my system so I took a trip down a new type of fast food place to hit the circuit.
The Curry Kitchen (TCK) Deli has not been open a year yet but is already making a name for itself.
Rather than dishing out the usual meals, TCK specialises in food with a difference. I didn't know what to expect when I looked at the design and decor of the place. It was modern and classy at the same time.
Now it doesn't take me long to choose what to have but when I looked at TCK's menu I was at a loss.
They had everything from Keema Pasta to meatball sandwiches. There was Chicken fried rice, Jacket Potatoes with Keema and homemade soups.
I felt like some explorer who had stumbled across some lost treasure and now having found it didn't know what to do with it.
Since I was a kid I have longed to have a halal pasty and chicken sandwiches. Finally, here was my chance to taste the unknown.
But it was the local favourite, Chicken Tikka Panini, that took my fancy. Made with succulent chicken pieces and grilled onions there were a range of sauces on offer for the real choosy among us.
My side order included the Peppered Chicken Sandwich and the Barbecue Chicken wrap.
Each dish is prepared before your very eyes and if at anytime you feel like adding something to your sandwich just tell the kind people behind the counter. A meal lives or dies on three simple points - taste, price and whether it fills you up. All the dishes I sampled had the lot with an added bonus. They were healthier for me than all those kebabs I normally guzzle down.
Take one of the full meal options available they cost £4.95 but there is a great choice.
Whilst I was more than content with TCK my daughter was over the moon. And if you make a four year-old happy then you must be doing something right.
