BLACKBURN: The Conservatives held a Question and answer session at St Barnabas Community Centre on Johnson St on Friday evening (March 25).
There was an average turn out and a fair few new faces we had not seen at such events to rally support for local man Michael Law Riding. The Tories are home in on a supposed discontented Asian vote and invited Sajjad Karim MEP of Nelson as the main speaker.
They are hoping that the likes of Sajjad Karim and Sayeeda Warsi (she wasn’t here) might help sway some Asian voters their way.
Whilst the latter can still whip up the crowd the former it seems cannot and for much of the evening became a bystander.
Ijaz Ahmed would-be councillor for Bury surprisingly came across as more of the MEP.
