MUSLIM communities are being urged to enjoy Eid celebrations safely.
Like other festivals, there will be increased cooking, lights, and candles, but by taking a simple precautions these risks can be greatly reduced.
Firefighters recommend having a working smoke alarm, never leave cooking unattended, when cooking deep-fried food, dry it before you put it in hot oil and never fill the pan more than one- third full, and never throw water over a pan.
When cooking, take great care with long hair and loose clothing, put out candles and cigarettes properly, and avoid overloading electrical sockets.
Lancashire’s Chief Fire Officer Peter Holland also urged drivers to stay safe on the roads.
