Members of a Hindu Society have been thanked for helping to raise £5,435 for a cancer charity.
The Gujarat Hindu Society Preston presented Rosemere Cancer Foundation with a cheque following a fundraising drive.
The charity’s chairman Peter Mileham OBE and chief officer Dan Hill were invited to receive the donation at a meeting of the Temple's twice weekly luncheon club. The gift is a second show of support for Rosemere Cancer Foundation after the society gave it more than £4,000 in 2018.
The society’s president, Mr Ishwer Tailor MBE, praised members for their generosity and support, adding: “Cancer has no barriers and can affect anyone in the community.”
Rosemere Cancer Foundation works to bring world class cancer treatments and services to cancer patients from throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria being treated at Rosemere Cancer Centre, Lancashire and South Cumbria’s specialist regional cancer treatment and radiotherapy centre at the Royal Preston Hospital, and at another eight local hospital cancer units across the two counties.
The charity funds items beyond NHS means such as cutting edge equipment, clinical research, staff training and innovative services to make cancer patients’ treatment journey more effective, comfortable and stress-free. For further information and to
