Tributes have been paid to a much-loved 14-year-old boy following his tragic death in Pakistan.

Teenager Adil Khan was living in Pakistan when he was reportedly shot dead.  

One of his sisters said police in Pakistan have made two arrests in connection with the alleged shooting.  

The teenager’s death has sparked an outpouring of grief, prayers and love in the area’s mosques.

Adil was buried in Pakistan at the weekend.

Aasiyah Mushtaq, one of Adil’s older sisters, said: “He was just a nice guy, really small and cute.

“His beautiful green eyes will be missed by many.

“We pray he’s granted the highest rank in Jannah.

“He used to just like having a laugh and a joke. He was just a right easy-going young boy.

“The last few moments of his life must have been really bad.

“Everyone’s absolutely heartbroken. Everyone’s been to the mosque.”

She added: “My dad will stay until they get justice for Adil.”

Zubair Khan, one of Adil’s brothers, said: “He always wanted to grow up and help people. He was very good. He was nice and caring.

“He was just at school. Everything just happened so fast.”

The British Embassy is working with police officers in Pakistan and supporting the family.

A spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British child who has died in Pakistan and are in contact with the local authorities.”

It comes after a number of tributes were left for the young boy in the T&A’s online Book of Condolence.

One prayer to the family reads: “I used to see him about but never did I think that he'd be in his grave before me. it makes me sad coz he had a whole life to live but it was written for him to go at 14yrs old I feel for his parents especially his mother may God give her and the family the strength to cope in these days of hardship and patience. My Lord grant him Jannah Al firdows and succeed him from the questioning of the grave as now he has gone to the here after INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAYHI RAJIOON.”

Another tribute said: “So very young but taken by the Almighty to roam the gardens of paradise with other young ones, under the care of the Prophet Ibraheem. May your mother and family be granted sabr to carry them through this tragic time, till they meet you again in the next life. Ameen.”

Meanwhile Bradford West MP Naz Shah described feeling “deeply saddened” by her constituent’s death.

The Labour MP said: “My thoughts and prayers remain with the family during this tragic time.  

“I have reached out to the British High Commission to seek further information.

“Of course it goes without saying that British High Commission and myself are here to offer any assistance to the family and I would ask that we respect the family’s privacy during this difficult period.”
