A fun day in Preston will help to raise funds for a major mosque project in the city.
The Noorani Eid Community Fundraiser will take place at Noor Hall on Noor Street in Preston on Sunday May 7. The fun days features a host of rides and food stalls.
Entry to the event is free and you can purchase a wristband for the rides.
The new Noorani Masjid is being built on Lytham Road. The re-building project began in 2021 and building work has continued for the past two years.
The initial target was to raise £400,000 to fund Phases 1 to 3 of the building refurbishment and to complete the car-park groundworks. With an increase in costs of all materials and labour in the past 18 months, the final cost could be higher.
Internal structural work has been completed. An arson attack has set the project back with the planned work on the roof delayed as a consequence.
