The Royal Mint has pledged to donate 2.5% of sales from its 20g Kaaba gold bullion bars to charity Islamic Relief during the holy month of Ramadan.
The donation period will commence from today (Wednesday 22 March) until Friday 21 April and will support the charity in raising vital funds for its life-saving work around the world.
The Kaaba gold bar, which launched earlier this month, depicts the holiest site for millions of Muslims, the Kaaba, and was created in consultation with the Muslim Council of Wales.
It was released ahead of one of the holiest months in the Islamic calendar.

Andrew Dickey, Director of Precious Metals at the Royal Mint, said: “We are proud to announce that throughout the period of Ramadan, The Royal Mint will be partnering with Islamic Relief and donating 2.5% of sales from our 20g Kaaba gold bullion bars to the charity.
"We were delighted to gift three Kaaba gold bullion bars to the charity ahead of launch, raising upwards of £9,000 through auctions, and it’s wonderful to be able to further support them in their extremely worthwhile fundraising efforts.
“The Royal Mint is committed to reflecting diversity in its product range and draws on 1,100 years of minting expertise and expert craftsmanship in its depiction of the Kaaba. We have worked closely with the Muslim Council of Wales to ensure the design captures its distinctive cube structure, creating a product that makes a special gift during Eid al-Fitr.”
Tufail Hussain, UK Director at Islamic Relief, said: “We’re honoured to have formed this partnership with The Royal Mint and would like to thank them for pledging to donate 2.5% of sales from the Kaaba gold bars to Islamic Relief during the month of Ramadan.
"All donations will go towards Islamic Relief’s life-saving work around the world.
“Ramadan is a special time for Muslims across the World, and it’s so meaningful that The Royal Mint is supporting our fundraising during this period.”
