Complimentary Iftar meals are being provided for drivers and food delivery couriers fasting during Ramadan.
Uber’s ‘Sundown Spots’ has expanded across the UK to 19 locations following a positive response from Muslim couriers and drivers in 2022.
The ‘Sundown Spots’ dinner series is entering its second year after being launched by TV chef Big Zuu last year.
Running throughout Ramadan, the ‘Sundown Spots’ will offer Uber Eats’ couriers and Uber drivers an Iftar dine-in experience.
Hosted at key community hubs across the UK including the famous i360 tower in Brighton, Glasgow’s Arta and New Craven Hall in Leeds. Each Sundown Spot will feature food from local restaurants that partner with the Uber Eats app.
The first ‘Sundown Spot’ opens its doors on March 27 in Manchester, and will be followed by special Iftar dinners for couriers including Birmingham, Leeds and London.
Matthew Price, General Manager of Uber Eats UK & Ireland, said: “Last year I had the pleasure of sitting down for Iftar with some of our couriers and drivers, hearing first-hand about what an important time of year it is and their experiences working during Ramadan.
"We’re very proud to be expanding our Sundown Spots dinners to even more people across the UK this year as a way to say thank you to our Muslim couriers and drivers”
