A UK gin and spirit company is celebrating winning three awards at the Indian Wine and Spirits Awards,
G & I Spirit Group, which is based outside Southend on Sea, won prizes for their chocolate cream tequila and two gold medals for their strawberry and coffee tequila at the awards in Mumbai.
Gina Duke, CEO, said: "G&I Spirit Group Ltd and the Mis Amigos Tequila team are honoured and extremely proud to have won multiple awards in India.
"We are especially pleased to see that the judges voted our Mis Amigos Chocolate Cream Tequila as the best in show as we were competing against many larger, more established international brands.
"We would also like to thank our distribution partner Chetan Gupta of Prodigy Beverages for all their hard work in making this happen."
"I can now announce that we will be launching a new exciting flavoured tequila early next year and I will be visiting soon to make arrangements for the launch and to increase the supply to the regions we currently supply. "
The Mis Amigos brand was up against hundreds of entries from around the world including the likes of Diageo, Campari, Pernod Ricard and Bacardi.
G and I Spirit Group distribute their tequilas in Maharashtra and Goa in the West, Haryana in the North and will soon be in New Delhi and Uttar Pradesh as well as Andra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana in the South.
The IWSA, founded by Sonal Holland, celebrates excellence in the wine and spirits industry.
