AFC Preston nearly caused a monumental upset after they clawed their way back from a 3-0 deficit.
In the end a disallowed goal saved Halifax blushes.
If the first half was anything to go by you would have thought this game would finish six or seven nil to the Hammers. They were in scintillating form creating chance after chance and looked like they would put this tie to bed within 30 minutes.
They could well have had five in that first half alone and two more ten minutes into the second half.
AFC Preston fought back well though and when they got two back, including a penalty it looked like they would go on to win this.
Halifax defended though well in those last ten minutes to book their place in the final.
It may not have seemed that way but they did put a lot of bodies in the way and pulled off some last ditch challenges to hang-on to that lead.
AFC Preston who celebrated promotion in the Mid-Lancashire League could be proud of this second half performance.
Halifax meanwhile did what was required in the end and expect a more all round performance as they head to their second final in three years.
