Members of 'Manchester Originals' cricket team joined in the ‘Eid in the Park’ festivities.
‘Eid in the Park’ is organised by Cheadle and Wythenshawe mosques which this year saw close to 3,000 people from Greater Manchester gather for a grand outdoor prayer at Bruntwood Park, Cheadle.
Representatives from Manchester Originals, who are set to compete in The Hundred Cricket tournament kicking off in August, joined in celebrations.
The team also linked up with the newly announced Official Chai Partner of The Hundred, Chaiiwala.
As part of the competition, Manchester Originals will be playing at Emirates Old Trafford throughout August, with their first game kicking off on Saturday 5 August.
Hamayoun Choudry, a community volunteer from Cheadle Mosque who helped to organise the event said: “It was brilliant to have Manchester Originals and Chaiiwala supporting ‘Eid in the Park’ with lots of fantastic activations and activities planned for all the family.
"I can’t wait to see how the partnership unfolds as the Hundred season kicks off and Manchester Originals plays at Emirates Old Trafford.”
Josh Dooler, Team Marketing Manager for Manchester Originals who was at the event said: “We feel very proud to have been able to bring some Manchester Originals fun to this incredible event, and to join with Chaiiwala in getting involved with the local community.
"It was great to see so many young people and children really excited about giving cricket a go and we hope to see a new host of fans join us at Emirates Old Trafford to watch the teams in action over the summer!.”
