Burnley side Daneshouse will take on Blackburn FC in the annual AMT Lawyers North West football championships.

The tournament has been held over three weeks at Witton Park Pitches in Blackburn and last year's winner Blackburn FC will be hoping to become the first side since 2017 retain the trophy.

In their way are surprise finalists Daneshouse FC who have put together performances reminiscent of the Greeks in the 2004 Euros!

The 2024 tournament saw eight teams compete at the quarter-final stage. Blackburn Kinetic Law FC comfortably overcame Blackburn United in the opening fixture.

There was more joy for the home sides as Blackburn Elite came through a tough 3-2 encounter against AFC Preston Reds who were entering the tournament for the first time. A thrilling game for the neutral.

In the game of the round Cube FC overcame AFC Preston.  Both sides had been early favourites to lift  the trophy but it was Cube who ran out winners after taking an early lead.

Daneshouse FC's first game saw them beat an up and coming Bolton United team, who may well be going a lot further in years to come. Daneshouse then went one further by beating the much-fancied Blackburn Elite 3-1 in the semi-final.

The young side who have been playing together all season are in the final at their very first attempt in this tournament.

In the other semi-final it was anyone's game but Blackburn came through the most entertaining game of the tournament so far. Both sides were inseparable until the second half until Blackburn took the lead and Cube had a man sent off.

The final takes place on Sunday 23 June at Darwen FC with a 2pm kick off.
